What does the My World Media Privacy Policy cover?

My World Media (the "Company", "we" or "us").

This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) outlines My World Media practices regarding information collected (a) online at www.myworldmedia.net and any other websites operated by the Company.

We suggest that you review this Privacy Policy periodically as we may update it from time to time. This policy was last revised on July 10, 2012. By visiting the Sites or otherwise interacting with the Company, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.


What information do we collect?

Each time you visit a Site, the web server automatically collects your internet service provider’s address, the web page from which you came, web browser software, and a record of your activity while visiting the site.

We collect personally identifiable information (such as first and last name, credit card number, home address, e-mail address and telephone number) that you provide when you make a purchase; visit our Sites; create or edit your shopping carts; participate promotions; fill out a survey or questionnaire; sign up for a program or club; contact the Company (by e-mail or otherwise); contact the Company’s customer service representative; or otherwise interact with the Company. Any information you provide may be combined with demographic and other information that is available in order to allow us to better communicate with you and enhance your shopping experience.

For purposes of this policy, information regarding your children that you (the parent) provide to the Company is treated in the same manner as information collected about you.


How do we use and share personal information?

Your personal information is used by My World Media to enhance your relationship with us, respond to your requests, tailor offerings to you, communicate with you about products, services, special offerings and events or programs offered by the Company or their marketing partners that may be of interest to you. The Company may also use this information to analyze and manage its businesses. Aggregate data (which does not allow an individual to be identified, contacted or located) is collected from online and offline facilities and may be used to enhance our ability to communicate with you, and for internal analysis and management purposes.

With and between our Brands: Personal information collected by one brand of the Company will be used by that brand in accordance with this Privacy Policy and may be shared with other brands of the Company for use only in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

With our Service Providers:

The Company may share your personal information with service providers who provide services for or administer activities on behalf of the Company (such as, but not limited to, authorization of credit card and check transactions, order fulfillment, and co-branded or joint product and service promotions). We may share your information with service providers who develop, host or maintain the Sites on behalf of the Company. We may also share your information with service providers who warehouse product, personalize product and perform order fulfillment services on behalf of the Company. These service providers are granted access to some or all of your personal information as necessary and may use cookies (as defined below) on our behalf, but are contractually restricted from using your personal information in any manner other than as may be necessary to perform their services. We may also utilize service providers to assist us in aggregating customer information. We may then share such aggregated information with prospective marketing partners and advertisers.

How is my personal information protected?

When you access your account information or transmit personally identifiable data to the Sites, that information is stored on servers that the Sites have attempted to secure from unauthorized access or intrusion. "Secure Socket Layer" software encrypts all personal information you transmit to the Sites. How can I opt out from receiving communications?

From time to time, you may receive periodic mailings, telephone calls or e-mails from the Company with information on products or services, discounts, special promotions, upcoming events or other offers from us or our marketing partners. You may opt out of receiving e-mail communications by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the e-mail received or by contacting us via email at moreinfo@myworldmedia.net to unsubscribe from future emails. It may take us up to 10 days to complete this process, as permitted by law.
Please note that if you ask us to remove your name from a mailing list, your name will be removed from all of the mailing lists maintained by the Company. In addition, your personal information may be retained in the database for record keeping purposes and for internal research and analysis.


What are cookies and how do we use them?

The Sites use "cookies," which are small pieces of information stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. The cookies are used to connect your computer with information stored about your preferences and product purchases. (Some examples of this data include your account preferences, items added to your shopping cart, user specific information on pages accessed and previous visits to the site.) What is the Company’s children’s privacy policy?

The Sites do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information online from children under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. If we learn that a child under the age of 13 has submitted personally identifiable information online, in contravention of these measures, it will take all reasonable measures to delete such information from its databases and to not use such information for any purpose (except where necessary to protect the safety of the child or others as required by law).


Linked Sites

The Sites may contain links to other sites, including content from other sites that is occasionally framed within a Site. Please note that the privacy policies at these other sites may be different from this one. You should review the privacy policy of any site linked to or framed within a Site prior to providing any information on or to that site.

What is Spam?

Spam is unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups. In short, spam is "junk e-mail." As defined by H.R. 3113 and reported by the Subcommittee on Telecommunications, Trade, and Consumer Protection, unsolicited e-mail refers to any electronic message that:
advertises a product or service for profit,
is sent for other commercial purposes,
is sent to a recipient with whom the initiator does not have an existing business relationship, or
invites the recipient to view content on an internet website that is operated for a commercial purpose.


An e-mail is recognized as "spam" if:

the recipient is unable to easily unsubscribe from the e-mail list,
the transmission contains invalid or forged headers, invalid or non-existent domain names, or other means of deceptive addressing, or
in the opinion of the recipient, the transmission and reception of the message appears to give a disproportionate benefit to the sender.


What is opt-in vs. opt-out e-mail?

Opt-in e-mail is a web marketing term for promotional e-mail that recipients have previously requested by signing up via a website or special ad banner. Typically, web users are invited to sign up for promotional information about one or more product or service categories. Those who sign up have thus “opted in”.
Opt-out e-mail is a web marketing term for promotional e-mail that recipients have not previously requested by signing up. However, for My World Media e-mail distributions, the contact’s e-mail address must have been provided to My World Media by that individual via an My World Media website, conference, or trade show.
Individuals who have willingly given My World Media their contact information via these methods are automatically added to e-mail distribution lists that benefit that individual. Although the individual is added to the e-mail distribution list on the concept of opt-out, the individual is ALWAYS given the opportunity to easily unsubscribe - without being hassled.


What is My World Media doing to become anti-spam?

My World Media hopes that individuals find its e-mail communications informative and helpful. However, My World Media respects the recipient’s wishes for either receiving or not receiving e-mail communications from us. Therefore, My World Media has adopted the following as procedures for all of its e-mail distribution communications:


Valid addressing

The e-mail communication will be sent to a single recipient with the intention of it being received by only one individual. The sender address will be a valid My World Media e-mail address that is monitored by an My World Media employee. Therefore the sender address can also be sent e-mail. The sender address will be relevant to the content of the message being sent.


Valid contact information

Any contact information in the e-mail communication will be real and relevant to My World Media.


Valid subscribe/unsubscribe service

Each email sent through the My World Media system contains a link that allows subscribers to unsubscribe from receiving emails from us. Each email contains an easy and automated way for you to unsubscribe. You may also change your expressed interests at any time. If you wish to unsubscribe or change your interests, simply follow the instructions at the bottom of any email.
If you have received an unwanted email sent by the My World Media system, please see above for options on how to handle and report an issue. The e-mail communication will always have the "My World Media Subscription" information at the end.
My World Media’s website will always provide information on how to subscribe or unsubscribe to any of its e-mail distribution lists. My World Media also has a strict privacy policy posted on all of our websites, which addresses the fact that information collected by My World Media is not sold, but used internally for marketing and telemarketing campaigns.


How do we protect your privacy?

We use strict security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of data used by our system. We promise to keep your email address secure and private and will not use it for other purposes. Please review our Privacy Policy for more details.

You will only receive email from our system if you have given permission us to send you email.


Will your information ever be shared, sold or rented?

We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information without your advance permission, unless ordered by a court of law. Information submitted to us is available only to employees responsible for managing this data. You will be added to My World Media’s email newsletter list only if you register to receive newsletters via a form on the My World Media website.
You may opt-out of receiving our newsletters by clicking on the opt-out link included in every email newsletter we send, or by contacting moreinfo@myworldmedia.net.


Refer a Friend/Forward-to-a-Friend Functionality

If you feel that information about My World Media could be useful for a third party you know (e.g. your friends or family members etc.), you may use our forward-to-a-friend functionality.
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about My World Media, we will ask you for your email address as well as your friend’s email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. My World Media stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.
